Asset types

To organize all assets you can define different asset types. It is possible to create a multi-level hierarchy for asset types.

 

To edit existing asset types you have to navigate to Asset Management -> Hardware Assets and select Asset types in the ribbonbar. The ribbonbar shows all available commands for asset types. In the left area you will see all existing asset types.

Refresh

Refresh

Refreshs the asset types window.

You can add an asset type.

You can delete an existing asset type.

 

Add Asset type

With this wizard you can create asset collections. Select the target folder on the first page and enter the asset type name. Optional you can enter a description.

On the second page you define the basic fields. After clicking Next you are able to specify using userdefined fields and define default values. To change the order of the fields select a field and use the arrows on the right.

On the following page you can select an icon before you configure the visibility settings on the last page.

 

Edit Asset type

Mark an asset type and select Edit Asset Type in the ribbonbar. It is possible to edit all settings including visibility settings and userdefines fields. To move an asset type to an toher folder just drag&drop the asset type.

 

Delete Asset type

To delete an existing asset type you have to mark the asset type and select Delete Asset Type in the ribbonbar.

 

Rule_Suspect

When you delete an asset type you may note that all asset type dependent asset types are also be deleted.
