Report Elements

Version 1.0.0

Numerous elements are located in the workspace of the report. At first, the section Report Title is defined. This field is displayed only on the first page of the report, and was changed in height. Due to the change in height it is possible to archive two rectangular objects in this section. The first rectangle object defines the title, and the second rectangle object the description.

The object Report Title consists of the sections Header and Main data. The data of the query are displayed in tabular form in these two sections. In the Header the headings of the individual columns of the table are defined with the help of rectangular objects. To display the data, rectangular objects, to which a variable is assigned, are defined in the Main data section. These variables refer to values of the query. When the query is executed, the variables are replaced with their corresponding values. The Main data section is later newly generated for each data set of the query and displayed. Hence multiple instances are added to the finished report.

The last large section is the Page footer, which is displayed at the bottom of each report page. A variable is displayed here by means of a rectangle object. The object contains the number of the current page. To the right is another rectangle object. In this object the current date is displayed by means of a variable.

It is important that these sections are not displayed larger than defined on the workspace. If the Report Title section is diminished in height, the description of the report will not be legible. In addition, the clearance between the different sections will not be respected. If the sections Header and Main data are separated, these will nevertheless be displayed directly below each other. To change this, the height of the section can be changed. The rectangular objects can be placed anywhere in the section. In other words, the sections only serve as a template for creating an own report.

The individual rectangular objects can also be adjusted in height and width. This is necessary if the later data are larger than the rectangle object itself. All data which exceed the size of the rectangular object will be cut off automatically.
