warning

Please note:

Bear in mind that the execution of the vulnerability scanner creates a load on your own system. Set the starting conditions, therefore, so that it fits your network best.

warning

Please note:

If you have not entered a valid license or the existing license has already expired, you can no longer update the definition file. A reliable scan for current vulnerabilities is then no longer possible. You will be notified by a dialogue when entering the ACMP vulnerability management, that your licenses are invalid.

Information about vulnerability management

To use ACMP Vulnerability Management accurately and completely, it is necessary for all clients to have installed .NET Framework 4.

Hinweis

Note:

Note that clients that are to be scanned for vulnerabilities need access to a file repository which contains the Vulnerability definition file.

In addition, the ACMP server must connect to the Internet in order to get updates on the Vulnerability definition file.

Preparation

In order to benefit from the advantages of ACMP Vulnerability Management, you must first update the Vulnerability definition file. To do this, select the action from the ribbon bar. At the bottom of the window you can see the last time you've looked for updates of the definition file and the last time an updated definition file was downloaded.

If no new updates of the definition file are available since the last download, you will receive a message that you have already downloaded the latest definition file.

Hinweis

Note:

Depending on the workload of the ACMP server and the SQL server, it may take some time to update the definition file. If you conduct a vulnerability scan during this time, this will result in an error.

Recommendation: When updating the definition file check the CPU load of the ACMP server service and the SQL server service in the task manager. If the utilization of both processes has returned to normal, the definition file has been completely updated.
