Installation of the Software Catalogue

Hinweis

Tip:

Before you install the Software Catalogue, enter a valid licences through the ACMP Console. The ACMP Consoles have to be upgraded at least to ACMP 5.2.0.

 

You can only profit from the advantages of the Software Catalogue when the used database is connected to the internet; so that it can be kept up to date.

 

Installation Software Catalogue

To install the Software Catalogue, switch to the ACMP license index. If the entries for the installation do not need to be upgraded, it can be found under C:\Program Files (x86)\Aagon\. Navigate to ACMP Server\Clients\ACMP DNA and start the ACMP DNA.exe.

A Wizard will open to guide you through the installation process. First enter the installation directory. This can be done via Browse... or manually. Once this is done, you have the opportunity to choose whether you want to use the current database or create a new one.

Tip:

The database must be created at least on a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2.

We tend to encourage the creation of a new database that has the same capacity as the ACMP Database.

Please note here that is it best to set the recovery module to "Simlpe". The default value is "Complete" whereby the login will be very large.

Warning:

Make sure that the installation of the SQL Servers does not lead to the renaming of the servers. You can verify by logging into your Microsoft SQL Management Studio and render the stored procedure sp_linkedservers. Compare the name found to the name of the server that is currently connected. For the error free use of the Software Catalogue, both names should be identical.

To use an existing database, specify the server name with the entity to the database and the credentials to be used.

With „Test settings “you can determine the accuracy of the entered information and make alterations. When you have entered all the information and carried out a test, click Next >.

When you want to use a new database, enter in the top section of the wizard the server and the entity and proceed to enter the login information of the server’s administrator. Configure the created database and login data in the bottom section.

Tip:

Please note that the login for the DNA Database and the Server Administrator should not be the same.

After the connection to the database has been established, respective to the creation of the database, enter the connection settings to the ACMP Database.

To ensure that your Software Catalogue is always up to the current status and that License Management Software will automatically be updated, it is necessary to have an internet connection. On the following page of the wizard, create a substitute setting. If you do not wish to use the proxy, you can leave this page by clicking Next >. Alternatively activate the Checkbox Use proxy and enter all necessary information.

 

On the following page enter the working directory. In addition, determine whether anonymous inventory data should be transmitted.

Tip:

Please note that we will be forced to charge you high license fees if you deactivate the automatic transmission. Tips regarding this matter are in your license documents.

 

On the following page you can set the intervals for the updates. The Following options are available:

After setting all desired intervals, confirm your entries by clicking Next >.

 

Now read the licensing agreement thoroughly and accept. If you do not wish to accept the licensing agreement, you can cancel the installation by clicking Cancel. It is not possible to resume the installation without accepting the licensing agreement. After you have accepted the licensing agreement by clicking Next > you will be directed to the last page of the wizard. If you wish to make adjustments, you may use the Back button to return to the previous page.

Tip:

To ensure that you can use the definitions in ACMP DNA after the update, depending on the tethered clients, you will need a lot of storage space for the ACMP DNA Database. Empirical values as well as the allocated hard disk space will be displayed.

 

You must actively confirm that you would like to proceed with the installation. Activate the corresponding checkbox.

 

After you have activated the checkbox, start the software catalogue installation by clicking once on Install.

Tip:

All data entered during the installation process can also be changed manually after installation. A shortcut will be created on your desktop.

 

During the installation, the wizard will show you which step is currently being performed.

Warning:

When you first installation of the Software Catalogue, various updates will be carried out simultaneously, whereby the update process can take very long.
